The instructor reserves the right to amend terms and conditions on a case by case consideration.

RESPONSIBILITY – I cannot be held responsible for postponements of lessons due to illness / mechanical breakdown / situations beyond my control / bad weather / or for driving tests postponed by the Driving Standards Agency.

LEGAL RQUIREMENTS – You must be able to read a number plate from a distance of 20.5 metres; (approx. five car lengths).  I will conduct a simple eye test on your first lesson. You must hold a valid provisional driving licence or a valid entitlement to drive in the UK.  Please ensure that both the photo card and counterpart of the licence is brought to your lessons and also to the test itself. Please bring your glasses if you need to wear them for driving.

FITNESS TO DRIVE – It is your responsibility to ensure that you are fit to drive.  Please note that some prescribed medications can reduce your concentration. Always check the label and/or if in any doubt, consult your doctor.  Should you attend your lesson and I feel you are unfit to drive; you will forfeit that lesson and may still be charged.

ROAD SAFETY – I reserve the right to withdraw my car from lessons/tests without notice should a pupil, in my opinion, prove not to be fit to drive or up to test standard.

CANCELLATIONS – If you wish to cancel a lesson a minimum of 24 hours prior notice should be given.  Cancellation should be given directly to the Instructor.  If you do not give at least 48 hours notice of cancellation, you will still be liable for payment of the booked lesson.

PRICES & PAYMENTS – Prices are stated from the beginning; where external influences dictate increases, suitable notice will be given.  All lessons must be paid for in advance.  Appointment times remain provisional until said funds are cleared. Forms of acceptable payment are cash and cheques accompanied with a valid cheque guarantee card.  Note: Returned cheques will incur additional fees as dictated by my bank and administrative charge for letters written.

CODE OF CONDUCT – I am an Approved Driving Instructor who has trained and passed, to the high standard as set by the Driving Standards Agency. This standard is maintained by periodical checks by the DSA.  I make every effort to keep to my appointment times; however, unforeseen circumstances may cause unavoidable delays to my schedule.  In these circumstances, I will contact you as soon as it is safe to do so, make up any lost time to you or re –arrange another lesson convenient to us both
